In my years of experience, I have learned that true learning did not take root until I actually began teaching. Every day brought about a new, different lesson about life, love and respect for what my teachers and professors demonstrated according to me, their student.  The formal education acquired while attending the various universities, in conjunction with the hands-on experiences that I have been afforded while working at Autaugaville School, have been priceless. The younger me wish that I could go back in time and change some of the decisions that I made, consequently, making those changes would have altered the outcome of where I am now. We are not perfect. So, I say thank you Lord for your direction, your Grace and Mercy showered upon me for these 22 years that I have served in this capacity…………Moreover, not every day agreed with what I wanted it to be, but every day’s lesson shaped me to be the individual, the teacher, and leader that I am today. Of course! YES! We are ALL leaders regardless of the title that’s associated with our name. I have grown tremendously and  I am confident in who and whose I am; knowing  that God made all that I have accomplished in my life possible! Therefore, I embrace this school year with an attitude of thankfulness and I will continue to do what I can while I can for our students.

I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning to sail my ship.”(Aeschylus)
